Astound Dance Academy is the elite dance studio in Kosciusko County in its sixth year of business. Astound specializes in dance education with a commitment to excellence and innovation in technique and artistry. With a wide variety of genres, dancers may choose from classes in the areas of Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Acrobatics and Tumbling, and Hip Hop dance. Classes are available for dancers between ages 18 months to adult.
Astound offers two programs for dancers to choose from. Both the Competition Program and the Recreational Program offer dancers the opportunity to grow in their technique, as well as develop their love and joy for dance. Astound’s competitive, pre-professional program and performance team was created to give dedicated, gifted dancers the opportunity to train at the highest level, compete in local and out-of state competitions for awards and scholarships, and prepare for a potential career in dance. These dancers train between 3 to 15 hours a week and are required to audition for the program. These classes offer students the opportunity to grow in responsibility, respect of self and others, a strong work ethic, artistry, and self-efficacy.
Astound’s recreational program offers weekly classes for students looking to explore the art of dance and grow in their areas of musicality, grace and fluidity of movement, and self-expression. These classes also offer the opportunity to help teach students a strong work ethic, responsibility, and sportsmanship. These classes offer the same advanced technical training as those in our competitive program but with a smaller time commitment.
